
BankCherokee is a family-owned bank that has served the Twin Cities since 1908. With more than a century of trust behind them, it was time for their brand to receive a thoughtful visual, messaging, and digital refresh; one that honored their legacy while positioning them for the future.
Known as a trusted, local community bank for generations, BankCherokee faced a rapidly evolving financial landscape. Leadership recognized the need for a modern brand refresh that would resonate with existing customers while attracting new ones. I partnered with the designers at Magenta Creative and the strategists at Brave Co to help develop a new look for BankCherokee, alongside refreshed messaging, a redesigned website, video assets, and a social media strategy designed to deepen connection and relevance.
With Magenta Creative at the helm, our team created a brand system that balances trust and warmth, reflecting BankCherokee’s community-first values. We then carried that foundation through a fully reimagined digital presence.






A new logo and bold color palette were just the beginning. BankCherokee also needed a clear, confident voice. In close collaboration with their internal team, we developed an elevator pitch, brand manifesto, unique selling points, and a comprehensive tone and voice style guide—equipping their sales and marketing teams with the tools to consistently communicate what makes BankCherokee special.





With the updated look and voice established, we turned our attention to the website. Over a six-month process—spanning research and discovery, site mapping, wireframing, design, copywriting, development, and QA—we built a beautiful, intuitive, and informative online experience for both desktop and mobile. The new site clearly tells BankCherokee’s story, prioritizes the information that matters most, and communicates their value to both current clients and prospective customers.




From the outset, BankCherokee was clear: they wanted their clients—not the bank—to be the heroes. Partnering with Visual Captive Video Production, we created a series of client testimonial videos that speak for themselves. These local businesses are thriving in large part due to their collaborative relationship with BankCherokee, and the videos highlight that impact with authenticity and warmth.
After all the pieces of the new BankCherokee brand were in place, it was time to spread the word with a new campaign designed specifically for small business owners across the Twin Cities. The campaign featured BankCherokee's happy clients and leveraged the creative from their testimonials. Alongside the campaign, we created and implemented a new social media content strategy to make sure the messaging was coming through loud and clear. BankCherokee is your go-to destination for small business financial expertise and true community-banking.
